After a foreword and introduction that place abortion in comparative contexts, 13 Christian women (both Roman Catholic and Protestant) write about their decision to abort; seven additional chapters provide further testimonies, e.g., memories of seeing a pregnant 15-year-old in a coffin, stories of church-sanctioned rape, and the editor's testimony to the importance of her being able to choose to birth an unplanned pregnancy. A concluding chapter addresses the issue of biblical support for choice. Related issues of violence toward women receive moving but restrained attention.
