A discussion of the issues facing SIDS families
Beginning Again is the result of discussion with over 100 SIDS families who faced the
many issues surrounding the pregnancy and birth of a subsequent child. Ranging from the many
questions about "should we have another child?" all the way through the infancy and childhood
of that precious 'subsequent sibling', these families were honest in sharing their hopes,
dreams, fears and joy. The decision to have a baby is always a serious one, but for families
who have lost a child suddenly and unexpectedly, there are often feelings of disloyalty, fear,
and isolation. These families will reassure you that you are not alone as they tell their
stories about dealing with surviving children, doctors, friends and family, and of course, the
new baby. |
