These two authors have already distinguished themselves for their resources
(Twenty-Third Publications) for and about children. Their skills continue in
this "Finding" series offered by Ave Maria Press. The series began with its
contribution for adults grieving the death of a parent, followed by a fine
resource for grieving spouses.
This book uses the events, memories, traditions and stories, often
those things which cause the deepest reminders of a child's death,
and thus a parent's deepest pain, to find pathways to mourn and
pathways to heal. The book respects healthy spirituality that
invites, never coerces, that bears, never oppresses. It comes
through in this resource book that covers important subjects in
gentle ways, in ways that are practical and also productive. Each
section offers reflection, ritual, reading and response. It comes
with the reminder, gently woven, yet firmly believed, that God is
with us in every turn of this horror and will be our strength for
survival.
