The authors, Patricia W. Duncombe and Ann G. Titus are both retired Social Workers, who have experienced sudden losses (due to murder, accidental gun shooting, and avalanche) of family members. The authors hope that their personal narratives, combined with their professional insights will be of assistance to others faced with a sudden loss.
