Support Network
The Drowning Support Network offers PEER GRIEF SUPPORT for
those who have lost loved ones in drownings or other aquatic
accidents, including when no physical remains have been recovered,
or the recovery process has been lengthy and difficult. Water
rescue/recovery personnel are also welcome to participate.

In the event of a disaster or other emergency need, the Green Cross Assistance
Program will be able to provide trained traumatology specialists from its worldwide
membership to the needed location(s). These specialists will be made available
to provide information, education, consultation, and treatment for traumatized
individuals or communities that have been affected by natural or human-caused
disaster.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
Western Massachusetts CISD Team Serving: Emergency Medical Services, Fire Departments,
Police Departments, Dispatchers, Emergency Departments, Hospital Staff, Disaster
Responders, and Ambulance Services. The Western Massachusetts CISD Team provides
a simple yet effective method to help those emergency workers trying to cope
with stressful experiences. CISD promotes the continuation of productive careers
while building healthy stress management behaviors.

Support teams at the scene and after an incident Debriefing
and defusing services Family support programs including
special programs for spouses and significant others

A resource and referral network
The Western Massachusetts CISD team is composed of specially
trained emergency service and mental health professionals
who volunteer their time, energy and resources. Team members
receive comprehensive training and participate in regular
continuing education sessions. The Western Mass CISD Team
is one of over one hundred teams serving emergency service
personnel nationally and internationally. This is a free
service that comes to you. While it serves primarily the
Western Massachusetts region, they are willing "to travel
as far as necessary."
